Delta Brings Boeing 717

Jan 05 2022

Today’s late afternoon Delta flight from Atlanta should be on a Boeing 717. It's a substantial upgrade from the Bombardier CRJ-900 (CR9) which Delta usually uses.

Simply put, the 717 is a bigger aircraft. According to SeatGuru the 717 has 112 seats while the CR9 has 76. Some of the seats on the 717 have a bit more wiggle room than the CR9.

Keep in mind that airline schedules are in a constant state of pandemic flux, but current schedules show the 717 in the daily mix through the beginning of May, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be extended.

So, as of right now, here’s what the daily Atlanta flight schedule looks like for the next few months. Times shown are approximate and the flights listed here are departures from Springfield to Atlanta.

• 6:00 a.m.    Aircraft: CR9
• 11:44 a.m.   Aircraft: CR9
• 5:18 p.m.    Aircraft: 717

If you're a Delta loyalist, who likes the bigger aircraft, now you know which flight to book!
